Hong Kong, September 12, 2025 – Asia Carbon Institute (ACI) is pleased to participate in ReThink HK 2025, where Founder John Lo joined an expert panel discussion on “Financing for Nature: Investing in Biodiversity Across the Indo-Pacific Corridor”. The session convened industry leaders to explore how green financial instruments can accelerate biodiversity conservation.
Key Insights from John Lo:
- Generating Revenue from Climate Benefits: Projects that leverage nature, like forest restoration and wetland conservation, can create verified carbon credits through the capture or prevention of emissions. Selling these credits establishes an income source, making large-scale nature-based solutions (NBS) economically viable.
- Encouraging Investment: Carbon credits enhance the attractiveness of NBS projects for businesses and investors aiming for net-zero emissions. This financial backing is vital for supporting essential efforts like afforestation, biodiversity tracking, and community engagement.
- Providing Additional Benefits: In addition to reducing carbon emissions, NBS projects promote biodiversity conservation, strengthen coastal resilience, and create community benefits such as local employment opportunities, aligning with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
ACI extends its gratitude to ADM Capital Foundation for hosting the panel and looks forward to continued collaboration in advancing green finance for NBS worldwide.
